Spring may spring to mind when you think of blue in nature, and if you want, you can put this into a patchwork quilt you make specially for the announcement of spring’s arrival. be imaginative, and alternate shades of pale sky blue with pastel pinks, greens, and yellows, or be bolder and pair light blue with shades of royal purple, bright green, and cheery yellow for a bolder look.

Blue is also the colour of water, and if you or a person you know loves boats, cruising, and the water generally, you can pair different shades of blue with crisp blocks of white, accented with the infrequent block of bright red, to give the quilt a nautical theme.
Theme 4: patriotism
Specific to the United States, you can make a red white and blue quilt that gives a nod to the Old Stars and Stripes. Mix star formed patches of white with irregularly formed patches of blue and red to give a distinctly American feel to your quilt, one that's’s also unique and one-off.
Theme 5: night sky
Eventually, if nighttime is one of your favourite times, and you like nothing more than an evening out gazing at the stars, you can construct a patchwork cover of a dark navy background with white “stars,” to make you think of the night sky. Again, one-off and unique, this duvet will ornament your bed and truly let you sleep “under the stars.”
